  1. Hi
I’m Holly Davis Goodwin. I sure could use some help. I’m looking for a marriage certificate for Alex and Ada Ruth Davis. Alex is my great uncle. Alex was born,13 Aug 1901, to Catherine Davidson Davis . Catherine had 5 children and we don’t know any of their fathers. The certificate, I need will have his fathers name on it. Could I please get a copy of it? In will be in Clay Co. Marriage Index, Book IV, file 43. Let me know how much I need to pay.

  2. I am doing research for a DAR application. I am trying to link Hugh Burns (1825-1879) with his father, Andrew Burns (1790-1856) or mother, Nancy Baker Burns (1802-1850) with some kind of official document. Andrew moved to Clay County with his family, early settlers of Clay County, and Hugh was born there. They supposedly are mentioned in a book called “Pioneer Settlers of Clay County” that can’t be viewed online. I can’t accept “hearsay” for DAR apps, it has to be official or something that was published during their lifetime. Can you please check to see if you can find something?
    Thanks! Bev
